Richard Ngoga scored his first client after a simple advertisement on social media. He posted about the services he was offering with his newly established cleaning company, and that was the breakthrough for Ringo Business Group Ltd.

Contrary to the early stages of most start-ups, his start was somewhat instant. Getting clients wasn’t that hard, nevertheless his limited experience caused some hiccups. 

"Our first job was to clean a newly constructed building. Apparently it was not the best service we offered because what we anticipated was so much different from what was on the field. However, we kept learning on the way and now, we are experienced and good at what we do,” he says.

It’s now been two years and the entrepreneur cum project manager still has his fingers wrapped around offering top quality cleaning services.

Ringo Business Group Ltd is a cleaning company that specialises in deep cleaning of commercial and residential properties. It also specialises in fumigation and disinfection of homes, apartments, restaurants, ware houses, hospitals and other residential areas. 

His journey to entrepreneurship

Whereas most entrepreneurs carry the dream of being their own bosses, Ngoga’s dream was to create a solution and serve his community. 

"I have always been an entrepreneur at mind because before starting this company, I had ventured in other small businesses that gave me the passion to create what RBG is today.”

When he started his company in December 2019, Ngoga says he had the goal of becoming Kigali’s number one professional cleaning and fumigation company. 

He believes there was a huge gap in this industry, especially the lack of professionals and quality machines that are advanced in cleaning carpets, couches, tiles and high window glasses. 

RBG came to tackle that problem, and when the Covid-19 pandemic hit, it came to his attention that there is also a huge gap in fumigation and disinfection thus introducing the services as well.

"The challenges that were there were poor quality service and poor performance. When RBG was introduced, the main challenges we wanted to address were the frustration of having a reliable company that is qualified and specialised in what it does. That’s why we chose to provide good quality cleaning and fumigation services which we think we are succeeding at,” Ngoga says.

Challenges and lessons learned 

His biggest challenge has been mostly with making sure the customer is satisfied with his services.

When he takes on a client, he wants nothing more than giving a truly professional cleaning experience. With his team, they work to reinstate your building or home to its proper condition, but this doesn’t always come easy. 

"And to solve that, we have learnt to always innovate and come up with new techniques, upgrade our machinery to compete on the market and always give the best service to our customers,” he says.

Customer satisfaction is one of the fundamental strategies he uses to ensure his business is a success.

"Customer satisfaction and improved or better quality services are our core values as a company; this is what makes the business successful. But also, always paying attention to details has proved to be essential in offering cleaning and fumigation services,” Ngoga says.

He says that for the years he has been in business, he has learnt that perseverance is key since one is bound to encounter challenges no matter their field of work.

"Some of the lessons I have learnt in this field is persistence and keeping the grind no matter how many times you fail,” he says.

Ngoga’s future plans are to make Ringo Business Group a first class cleaning and fumigation company, known to be the best service provider in the cleaning business.
