Azam FC head coach Youssouph Dabo is convinced that Saturday’s friendly match against Rayon Sports is a great opportunity for his side to scan the environment before facing APR FC in the CAF Champions League preliminary round.
The Tanzanian outfit will be looking to oust APR FC as they push for a ticket to the next round and Dabo said he doesn’t take Rayon test lightly as he continues to prepare for the clash against the Rwandan champions.
"The game is very important to us. Aside the trophy, it will also serve as a practice outing for us before our CAF Champions League game with APR,” Dabo told the press in a pre-match press conference on Friday.
"The game gives us the chance to understand the Rwandan environment ahead of APR game."
The Senegalese coach conmended Rayon Sports for their invitation and promised the fans good football during the game which will take place on the occasion of "Rayon Sports Day 2024.”
"Thank you to Rayon Sports for inviting us on this important occasion. I think on Saturday, it will be a good game, a great game between two good teams and I hope we will do our best to give the fans the best of football."

Dabo was impressed by the reception and hospitality that received since they arrived and promised to do the same for APR in Tanzania.
"We needed to understand the mindset of Rwandans, when we arrived at the airport, we were treated very well. We wish to have the same reception when we return to face APR FC because this is African football and things have changed."
