With barely a month to closing the transfer window, several players are still hanging on as clubs continue to find suitable signings for the forthcoming 2024/25 season.
A host of good players are without clubs after seeing out their contracts at the end of the 2023/24 season.
Times Sport takes a look at five top free agents available on Rwandan transfer market.
Prince Buregeya
The former APR skipper asked his club to terminate his contract after the 2023/24 season and the army side honoured his wish.
Buregeya, a graduate from the APR Academy, was promoted to the senior team in 2018 and was a regular figure at the club’s backline before injuries cost him a place in the team.
Currently, he is fully fit but his transfer situation remains unclear. He was initially linked with a move to Rayon Sports but no deal was agreed.
Moro Sumaila
The Ghanaian striker was Etincelles FC’s star man in the 2022/23 season, scoring 10 goals in just the first round of the season.
He was since on APR FC’s radar but the move never happened despite although a number of top clubs including AS Kigali and Rayon sports were all in race to sign him in January 2023 only to see him move fall through because Etincelles were not ready to sell him in the middle of the season.
Moro joined Police FC in August 2023 but he wasn&039;t fully fit enough to play, having undergone a surgery for his injured ankle. By the time he was fully fit, Mashami had his team and the flamboyant striker struggled to adapt, spending much of the season on the bench.
The attacker is now a free agent. He was released in June 2024 and Police paid him the remaining year of his contract.

Bienvenue Mugenzi
The former Kiyovu Sports hot shot was just used as a backup striker at Police FC as he deputized for Peter Agblevor and Didier Mugisha.
The forward managed just three league goals throughout the 2023/24 season and he was far from impressive. Despite his unimpressive season, Mugenzi is a good player who can hit the ground running again.
He is currently a free player in the ongoing transfer window.
Dominique Nshuti Savio
The talented winger is among players released by Police FC at the end of the season, bringing his five-year spell at the club to an end.
Nshito, whose football career spans a decade, has featured for most of the big teams in Rwanda including Rayon Sports, AS Kigali, APR, and Police. Surprisingly, not any of the four teams is interested in his services anymore.
But, at 27, the left-footed winger still has more years to play but offers remain rare on his table.
Stephen Bonney
The Ghanaian left-back had an ordinary 2023/24 season, scoring three goals including the goal against Rayon Sports which propelled Bugesera FC to the final of the 2023/24 Peace Cup.
Bonney, who can also play as a centre back, was released by Bugesera FC after his two-year contract expired on July 1. He is one of the Rwandan topflight league’s top players who are yet to sign for any club this transfer window.
