AMAVUBI Head Coach Vincent Mashami has received a boost from two professional players ahead of the 2022 Qatar world cup qualifiers against Mali and Kenya in Group E next month.
The two players who have already jetted in include Isaac Nsengiyumva of Vipers FC and Jamir Kalisa of Express FC.
Twelve professional players including Salomon Nirisarike were called up for the tie.
Rwanda will take on Mali on September 2 before hosting Kenya in the second fixture between September 5-7. Also part of the group in Uganda, whose first-leg encounter with Rwanda is scheduled for October 6.
Other professional players expected in the country are; Emery Mvuyekure (Tusker FC), Clément Buhake Twizere (Strømmen IF), Emmanuel Imanishimwe (FAR Rabat), Abdul Rwatubyaye (FK Shkupi, Macedonia), Ange Mutsinzi, Nirisarike Salomon (Urartu FC, Armenia), Bryan Clovis Ngwabije (SC Lyon, France), Thierry Manzi (FC Dila Gori, Georgia), Djihad Bizimana (KMSK Deinze), Rafael York (AFC Eskilstuna, Sweden), Yannick Mukunzi (Sandvikens IF, Sweden) and Kagere Meddie (Simba SC).
Rwanda is placed bottom among the four Group E teams in the latest Fifa rankings, will be hoping to have a better campaign after failing to qualify for next year’s Africa Cup of Nations.
After six match rounds, a home and away round-robin format, only the top team will progress to the third and final round of the qualifiers for the Fifa World Cup.
Amavubi reached the group stages after edging out Seychelles 10-0 on aggregate in October 2019.
