Rwanda and Angola are set to sign 13 agreements on mutual cooperation in the justice system, the agreements have already been drafted and sent to Angola for assessment.

The agreements include agreements on extradition of fugitives from both countries, mutual legal assistance, and processing of tried criminals, among others.

This emerged when the Minister Inspector General of State Administration for Angola, Dr. Sebastiao Domingos Gunza, paid a courtesy call to the Minister of Justice, on Friday, August 13, as part of his visit to explore Rwanda's anti-corruption policy and its implementation to fight and prevent graft.

Amb Eduardo Filomeno Leiro Octávio, Angola's ambassador to Rwanda, who accompanied the delegation, said that these agreements will be signed during a joint commission meeting that will happen in Kigali very soon.

"Rwanda and Angola are both committed to strengthening ties in all areas, therefore it is important for both of our countries to share information, in order to emphasize  stronger ties in the justice sector,” he said

Johnston Busingye said: "Rwanda remains open to cooperate with Angola in terms of information exchange and cooperation in all areas.”

He also added that the journey to fight corruption in both countries remains the same, and it should be a political choice and that the fight against corruption should be taught to younger generations, so they grow up with the anti-corruption culture values.
