Local league side Rayon Sport visited Ntarama Memorial Site in Bugesera, Eastern Province on Saturday and thereafter gave food stuffs to orphans the 1994 genocide against the Tutsis.

The club vice president in charge of mobilization, Patrick Itagishaka, who led the delegation, said that their visit Ntarama was to join hands with the other Rwandans to commemorate the 15th anniversary since genocide happened in the country.

"We have always visited Kigali Memorial Site to remember our loved ones, who died during the Genocide but this time we had to go and witness what happened somewhere else.

"This is our (club) initiative to remember fallen Rwandans who died during the genocide. We made a on a club level to enable players witness for themselves how people suffered during the Genocide,” Itagishaka told Sunday Times.

He noted, "It is necessary to show the players, both local and foreigners what happened in Rwanda, it’s good for them to learn about genocide and how best to prevent from happing not only here but anywhere else.”

The Blue gave food stuffs to orphans, who lost their parents during the genocide as part of their support and hope for the future.
