Gabonese striker joins Rayon, Ngendahimana and Sugira in talks with AS Kigali

Rayon Sports have signed striker Nathanael Iga Ndwangou from Gabonese top tier side Sportif de Bendje.

Ndwangou, 21, arrived in Kigali on Monday night, July 29, and penned a two-year deal with the Blues on Tuesday morning.

The Blues are also in advanced talks with forward Fall Ngagne and defender Youssou Diagne both from Senegal.

Ngagne, 24, previously played for different teams including AF Darou Salam and Generation Foot from Senegal, Ittihad Tanger from Morocco as well as Viagem Pribram and FK Příbram in Czech second tier division.

Meanwhile, Youssou Diagne, 27, played for ASC Jaraaf between 2017 and 2019, Generation Foot (2019-2021) both in Senegal and Ittihad Zemmouri de Khemisset (2021-2024) in Morocco.

Rayon Sports is going under massive rebuild before the new league season kicks off on August 15 as club looks to end their five-year title jinx.

All eyes are now on Brazilian coach Roberto Oliveira Gonçalves do Carmo, alias Robertinho, who returned to the club last week as he looks to win what would be the Blues’ first title since he left in 2019.

In particular, the team is preparing Rayon Day during which new players and new kits are unveiled.

AS Kigali swoop for Sugira, Ngendahimana

Former Rayon defensive midfielder Eric Ngendahimana and striker Ernest Sugira are reportedly close to joining AS Kigali.

The duo was spotted training with the club which started training sessions on Monday, July 29.

Ngendahimana is a free agent after seeing out his contract at Rayon Sports in June while Sugira was out of football action throughout the 2023/24 season after leaving Syrian outfit Al Wahda Damascus when his deal expired on June 30, 2023.

Meanwhile, former Gasogi United and Police FC defender Mark Nkubana is also among new faces spotted training with AS Kigali as talks over a move are underway.
