The Anti-Corruption and Anti-Injustice Campaign was, on Saturday, headlined by Nina of Nina and Charly, who performed solo since the duo was rumoured to part ways.
She was the second to perform after Riderman who opened the campaign dubbed "Citizens Mobilization by Music performance," organised by the Office of the Ombudsman of Rwanda and Delegation of the European Union to Rwanda. Luckman Nzeyimana the show's host welcomed Madeleine Nirere who gave an opening remark as she reminded every Rwandan that fighting against corruption is everyone’s responsibility especially amongst youth, artists and journalists.
"Fighting against corruption is our responsibility. Dear youth, you are the future of Rwanda, fight against corruption and injustice. Special thanks to our artists who use their talents in fighting this. We do really appreciate the journalists’ efforts who always never rest on this case,” said Nirere during her opening remark.
Nzeyimana, a.k.a Lucky reminded viewers about the dangers of corruption and injustice and to call 199 or send an SMS on 1990 to report any forms of corruption.
Nina then joined Symphony Band on stage with her dancers clad in all black and opened her performance with ‘Ibirenze Ibi’, followed by ‘Face to Face’ and others.
She pulled off the performance with spectacular dance moves despite the absence of her counterpart Charly.
In the middle of her performance, Nina paused the band and music to deliver her message; "Let’s hope that you are all doing great and enjoying the concert so far. Would like to encourage you all to fight against corruption in all sectors since it destroys the country’s development and is a setback to our development as well.”
She went on to perform the dog’s other songs like ‘Owooma’, ‘Nibyo’, ‘Zahabu’, ‘Razizi’, before eventually closing the show with ‘Indoro’.
