In most cases, if the sector is selected, you are likely to be given a list of potential job titles, where you can see a number of available vacancies listed under this title.  However, this is not always the case as some job titles could be applicable in a number of different professions.

According to Annick Uwera, an employer in a local skin and haircare firm, you ought to target websites of companies you are interested in and send in your cover letter in case there is that option.

"Some companies may provide an email address to which you need to send your cover letter and resume. When applying, in the subject line of the email, feel free to add your full name and the title of the position. You can also give a summarised reason why you’re applying for the role. Attach your resume and cover letter to the email.”

She warns against being general while applying for any job and only applying if you meet the position’s requirements.

"Before you start using job finding sites, keep in mind that you follow the instructions in the job posting, it’s not a must to meet every requirement to apply, as long as you have at least 60 percent of what the job is looking for, there is no need for hesitation to apply,” she says.

She carries on that you can also consider your location and make it a point to include this in your search. You wouldn’t want a job that is miles away from where you stay. Being specific with such details, assists the employer to know whether to offer you a job depending on the stipulated locations.

A job alert is a summary of new job postings from a specific search that is sent to your email. Receiving only a number of job listings on a daily basis would allow you to stay current with the latest opportunities in an easier way.
