Rwandan actress Assia Mutoni’s movie, ‘Wedding Dress’ has been selected to compete at the Silicon Valley African Film Festival to be held in California.
In its 12th annual festival, the international festival will start on October 8-10, with over 80 films from 30 countries competing.
Mutoni told The New Times that she applied to compete in the international festival and her movie was selected.
"My movie, Wedding Dress is about a boy and a girl planning for a wedding. While preparing their wedding the two had an argument that stemmed from a phone call, then later they both die on their wedding day.”
"My movie will be premiered for its first time in this festival. This is a great opportunity because my people will watch my movie and if it wins, it will be awarded. I might also get producers to help me in my future projects or even buy my movie,” Mutoni said.
The movie star is known in a TV series ‘Seburikoko’ aired on RTV as Alice, and ‘Intare y’Ingore’ among others. She also has her own movies on her YouTube channel, Assia Films.
