Rwanda’s Afrobeat and RnB singer Peace Jolis is set to entertain music lovers at the Iwacu Muzika Festival 2021, scheduled for Saturday, July 24.
This virtual event will take place at Kigali Arena and, as usual, will be broadcast live on Rwanda Television at 8:45pm.
Peace told The New Times that it is a blessing and a great opportunity to have been given a chance to entertain Rwandans who will be home watching the festival.
"I am grateful to the organisers because it is my second time performing in this pandemic. My performance will be amazing because I want all people from different generations to be entertained. I will sing different genres, including two old songs that are not mine, so as to entertain all age groupd”, Peace said.
He added that he is working on many music projects including new singles that he will let people know of, at the right time.
The ‘Un Million Sekwa’ hitmaker will headline the festival, following previous performances by Platini who opened the festival on June 26, RDF Military Band, Mani Martin and Cyusa Ibrahim who performed last Saturday.
The singer, when he auditioned for the Tusker Project Fame Season 6 back in 2013, realised that his talent could take him places and became serious about building a career in music.
Some of his songs include ‘Icyo’, ‘Uko Nagukunze’, ‘Turi Beza’, ‘Bihwaniyemo’, ‘Everything’ and many others. He is also known for working with Mashirika during their performances.
Iwacu Muzika Festival, which seeks to promote the Rwandan music industry by bringing together different artistes in their age brackets on the same stage, is organised by East African Promoters, in partnership with the Ministry of Youth and Culture, Tembera u Rwanda, RBA, among others.
