WESTERN PROVINCE NYAMASHEKE — The Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) through one of its projects known as the Uniformed Personnel and Prisoners project (UPP) on Monday, April 06 donated 15 televisions and other electronic items to the leadership of Nyamasheke district.

NYAMASHEKE — The Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) through one of its projects known as the Uniformed Personnel and Prisoners project (UPP) on Monday, April 06 donated 15 televisions and other electronic items to the leadership of Nyamasheke district.
According to the UPP’s project manager, Geoffrey Ngiruwonsanga the donations are to be used in sensitizing and mobilizing residents in all the 15 sectors of the district in controlling and in fighting against HIV/Aids and other infectious diseases in the region.
‘The main objective of donating these items to this district is in line with our (UPP) mission of fighting against Hiv/Aids. I am very sure if used effectively Aids will be reduced in the district’, said Ngiruwonsanga.
The donation was estimated at Rwf. 4,661,800, according to officials from UPP.
The project manager also asked the sector executive secretaries to regularly maintain the items to ensure their continued use.
The Mayor of Nyamasheke district, Vincent Muragwa who presided over the ceremony thanked the management of UPP for providing the district with the donations saying that the items would help in mobilizing residents in carrying out various government programs.
