On August 2, while riding a mini-bus from Kigali to Gisenyi, I opened The New Times to the article about Gary Dimmock of the Ottawa Citizen, and have more recently read "Who the hell is this muzungu?” by Tito M. Rutigita which appeared on August 29.

As a Canadian myself, I felt ashamed to hear that a man from my hometown could disrespect Rwanda and its people this way.

The readers of the Ottawa Citizen and its editors should know about this, and I can’t seem to find any indication that it has been addressed.

Could you please send me a copy of the August 2 article Re: Gary Dimmock and any others related to this matter?

I would like to write to the paper to bring his tactless behaviour to attention.

As well, please extend my most gracious thank you to the people for their friendliness and kindness towards us during our vacation to Rwanda this summer.

P.S. I have heard that Gary Dimmock is a jerk in Canada as well.
