AT THE AGE OF 22, Confiance Munyaneza best known as Confy, has won attention and admiration from music lovers, releasing hit after hit since the outbreak of covid-19.
Growing up in a family of music lovers, comfy was exposed to music which was the main inspiration that attracted him to join this sector.
"Right from my childhood, I grew up with a dream of being a great musician. My family also played a good role in contributing to my dreams due to the way they were also deep into music,” he said.
The Jowana hit maker is not bent towards one specific genre. He explained why he jumps on different styles of music, not sticking to one.
"I love good music and any genre can produce good music. I do most of the genres and from my first release ‘Panga’, you can easily notice that I don’t limit myself when it comes to styles” says Comfy.
His recent song ‘Panga’ came out last Saturday and went on to hit local radio and TV stations’ airwaves. It is now considered by many to be among the best summer songs.
He told The New Times that the message in the song is all about reminding people to be serious and plan everything ahead in a relationship.
"These days people lack planning, especially in relationships. Panga, a Kinyarwanda word for plan came as a reminder to lovers to communicate and plan before jumping into relationships to avoid unnecessary problems.”
Comfy is already raking in the benefits of making the best music. He believes that the Rwandan music industry is heading in the right direction and believes it can go farther.
"My goal is to see the music industry grow bigger than it is today so that I can also get to an international level. To the upcoming artistes discipline and consistency is the key to success” he says.
The young rising artiste is set to release his debut album at the beginning of next year. Apart from music, he also has an interest in drawing and painting.
Some of his hit songs include ‘Jowana’, ‘Panga’ and Pole Pole.
