Bruce Melodie's recently released song 'Sowe', also set to feature on his debut album, has crossed one million views on YouTube. The singer gave credit to The Ben who promoted the new hit song on his Instagram page.
‘Sowe’ premiered on July 19, but made it to the mainstream after The Ben used its sound in an Instagram post of July 23, a move that is also said to have pushed the song to generate over 300,000 views in 24 hours.
The gesture was well-received by tens of thousands of his followers who showed him respect for the cause despite recent feud between the two artists.
The song is currently at the top of the local charts, largely due to its catchy video clip, directed by one of Burna Boy's video directors, Perliks Definition, or perhaps it's groovy and soulful Amapiano beat crafted by Saxbarrister, the producer behind Chris Brown's 'Call Me Every Day', which features Nigeria's Wizkid.

According to Daniel Mugabo, a Kigali-based music lover, ‘Sowe’ is undeniably a masterpiece, but The Ben&039;s Instagram post played a pivotal role in accelerating it into the mainstream.
Mugabo said the gesture shows a sign of solidarity among the two artists who have reportedly been at loggerheads for a long time.
"Sowe is a well-produced song and would have made it with or without The Ben's support. But it is also visible and clear that The Ben's post promoted it to a certain level. Their media feud has marketed it in a positive way," Mugabo told The New Times, adding that this should serve as an example for local artistes to end feuds.
An end to the alleged 'beef' between the two artists?
Reacting to The Ben's support for his new song, Bruce Melodie said that all is well with the latter and made it clear that, "it is the media and fans who were fueling the tension.”
Melodie was speaking to TV host Luckman Nzeyimana via Versus, a showbiz talk show broadcast on Rwanda Television, on Wednesday 24 July.
Referring to long-time rivalry between football stars Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, Bruce Melodie explained that, most of the time, celebrity feuds are created by fans who likely compare people pursuing the same career, revealing that there is no beef between him and The Ben.
