Rwanda National Basketball League side Tigers have added to their ranks Ntore Habimana, a Canada-based Rwandan point-guard.

Habimana has signed a one-year contract with the team.

The 23-year old is not new in Rwandan basketball, since he was part of the national team that featured in Afrobasket qualifiers in Monastir, Tunisia in February.

He made his debut for Rwanda in an Afrobasket qualifier build-up game against Egypt in February.

Francis Shyaka, the President of Tigers Basketball Club confirmed Habimana’s transfer to Times Sport on Monday, June 28.

"The point guard will be a good addition to the team. He is in Kigali and has signed a one-year deal,” he said.

"Before we started this season, we had brought in Nyakinda Onyango Valentin, a small forward from Kenya,” he added.

So far in the league, Tigers have lost all the games they have played in Group A.

The 2021 National Basketball League started on June 4 after a delay of almost 5 months.
