Musanze FC head coach Sosthène Habimana has said that he has a group of players ready enough to compete for the domestic league title next season.

The Northern Province-based team finished in the third place during the 2023/24 season just behind champions APR FC and Rayon Sports. It was the club’s best performance ever since it was established but the tactician insists Habimana insists his side deserves a better position this season as he vows to come back stronger and fight for the title.

"All the teams have a goal to improve this season. When you go and win more games than you did the previous season, I think that&039;s what gives you a good result that can lead to the title," the coach said.

Musanze FC has started preparations for the 2024/25 top tier league season which kicks off on August 18. They play Rayon Sports in a friendly match at Ubworoherane Stadium on Saturday, July 27.

It will be a good opportunity for the coach to test his group, especially new players who joined the club in the summer transfer window.

"The players that we signed are there, we are still training to see how we can add fresh blood in the team, replacing those who have left, but I would say that the training is going well now," Habimana said.

"We want to add new blood so that at least our performance will be better than what we saw in the last season.”

Musanze FC will commence the new league campaign on August 18 when they welcome Muhazi United to Ubworoherane Stadium.
