Up and coming musicians Ariel Wayz and Juno Kizigenza have denied speculations that they are dating following a video that went viral on social networks.
The short video, first posted by popular Instagram blogger The Cat Babalo, shows Wayz and Kizigenza kissing, which prompted many into assuming that the two singers are a couple.
The New Times has learned that the video, of about 40 seconds, was taken during the clip shooting of their new song 'Away' two weeks ago, and could have been leaked on purpose to popularise the song before its release.
In an exclusive interview with this publication, both Kizigenza and Wayz refuted the rumour.
"The video went viral yet we didn’t want it to be that way. Juno is my best friend. There is no [romantic] relationship at all,” Wayz said.
When asked about what her parents think about that video, she mentioned that they saw it and didn’t ask her anything about it, which, from her point of view, is not a big deal.
Kizigenza on the other hand commented: "I don’t have any other comment on what Ariel said. We have a private life that we can’t share openly, but we are friends and yes we can interact in one way or another,” said.
Ways explained that the video could have been captured during the shooting of their song, ‘Away’ although it does not appear in the video of their song. However, she doesn’t know who took the video and is still trying to find out the person who took it.
On another note, Wayz appreciated the duo's audience for their support and promised more music projects.
"Special thanks for the supporters. It really is a long journey so far and we have big projects for our fans. The way you welcomed ‘Away’ overwhelmed us for sure. Keep on enjoying the tune and many more are coming soon.”
