Dieudonne Disi will be in action today for a once in a life time chance, to impress on the international scene, when he runs in the Paris international marathon.

The Paris international marathon is one of the few prestigious races on the IAAF calendar. It is set to attract over 50000 runners, most of them elite and experienced long distance runners.

The Athletes will run for 42km from triumphal Arch to champ Elysee. Although it will the first time Disi will be competing in the 42km race, he sounded confident before departure early this week.

"Although it is my first time to run in a full marathon (42km), I’m sure that I will perform well,” he said.

"I have been training hard for over two weeks. The winner of the Paris marathon stands to pocket $1.5m, though all the athletes will be given allowances and bonuses according to their performance.
