Waiting in vain for Beenie Man’s visit to Rwanda

I’m sure you have heard the rumours that the world’s self-proclaimed King of Dancehall, Beenie Man, was to visit the country, during his Africa Tour, last month.

It was rumoured that the tour was following his massive ‘Beenie Sizzle ‘08,’ which was set for the Jamalco Sports Club in Clarendon on Independence Day, August 6.

Scouts had revealed that the tour was also an opportunity for the dancehall master to embark on spreading his love and passion for Africa.

His tour was to cover several African countries which were to include among others: Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Gambia and Seychelles. Was this tour for real, or was it one of those tools stars use to gain more popularity? Watch this space!

Local artistes in collabo

Teamwork is the key word here! Latest on the grapevine is that of our own local artistes are in collaboration to perform together during the commemoration week.

Scouts have revealed that a group of talented musicians was recently spotted at Novotel Hotel, shooting a video clip of various commemorative songs that will be telecast throughout the commemorative period.

Rwanda will from April 7 to 14, be commemorating the 15th anniversary of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.

Drama at graduation party

Free drama was given last Sunday in Kimihurura, where one of the ULK students threw a massive party for his graduation. Then, there came a moment of unwanted antagonism, when this smartly dressed lady dashed and grabbed the mic from the Master of Ceremonies (MC).

She braggingly announced to the crowd who had attended the party that she was one of the invited VIPs. The poor MC had nothing to do, but to jump aside as he, too, watched the irritating drama.

Clad in a micro-mini tight dress, this pretty lady was rumoured to have been attracted to the party boy. Immediately after her speech, she dashed and boldly gave him an affectionate hug, leaving everyone in shock.

"Jesus Christ, what the hell does she think she is!” a female voice was heard from the crowd.
