Embrace Africa, the organisers Miss Global beauty pageant, has announced that the finale of the pageant will be held on June 24, at Canal Plus Olympia, Rebero.
The aim of the pageant is to give more Rwandan women an opportunity to represent Rwanda in more international beauty pageants.
At the beginning of May, 33 contestants made it to the pageant, out of which the top 22 women were selected for the semifinals, based on votes, long gown competition and video presentation.
Contestants at the finale will be judged based on how they answered questions, long gown presentation and their pictures.
"Due to covid 19, the judges will meet on zoom to judge the presentation of the contestants and choose the top ten women who will be announced on June 24. Everyone will get tested for covid 19 as required by the government,” said Paulette Ndekwe, the country representative of Embrace Africa.
The finale is expected to start at 4 pm and end at 7 pm.
"Among the top 10, the top 6 will get an opportunity to represent Rwanda in different international beauty contests but we hope to take more women in the future,” she added.
"For now, the pageant will give winners opportunities to be in international contests as well, as to cover their registration fees, accommodation, and transport. We hope as the competition grows bigger and we get more sponsors, so we can be able to award the winners,” she commented.
The contests are: World Top Model to be held in Italy, Miss Africa Golden in Turkey, Miss Tourism Global to be hosted in China, Miss Globe World to be hosted in India and Miss Glamour Faces World in Vietnam.
Ndekwe told The New Times that all the contestants who attended the pageant will be present at the finals.
