Prosper Mico, best known as Mico the Best has released a song that preaches against irresponsible drinking.
Through the song dubbed ‘Amabiya’ a Kinyarwanda word for ‘beer’ the ‘Igare’ hitmaker talks about how despite the negative effects of irresponsible drinking, like hangovers and irrational behaviour, alcohol can be addictive.
The singer told The New Times where the inspiration came from; "The main inspiration came from me being an artist and real art mostly focuses on reality. What I sang about is relatable among people who drink alcohol. Sometimes from what we all see among youth, the consequences after all the fun are not pleasant. So I wanted to deliver a message on that.”
He added that partying is cool, although doing so responsibly should come above everything else.
"Take, for instance, the video of a girl who gulped alcohol that went viral. Partying is not bad and I also do so, but we all need to be responsible Rwandans.”
