The Kigali Arena is hosting a go-karting riding sports event, from Saturday, June 12 to Sunday, June 13.
Go-karts are a type of open-wheel car or quadricycle.
The weekend event will feature practise and qualification sessions on Saturday and racing on Sunday for both junior and senior categories.
Speaking at a press conference announcing the races, Christian Gakwaya, the Chairman of the Rwanda Motorsport Association organising the event said:
"Go-karting is the perfect pastime for friends, families and corporates and we look forward to having competitive races this weekend that will leave all participants looking forward to future races.”
Kyle Schofield, Director at QA Venue Solutions, said that "We have worked with the Rwanda Motorsport Association to bring back this exciting sport to the Kigali Arena while adhering to all the health and safety guidelines. This is part of our commitment to make the Kigali Arena a world-class sports hub. See you all this weekend”.
Tickets to participate in the go-karting races cost Rwf 20,000 each and will be available for sale at the arena on Saturday and Sunday.
