The national U-23 football team, on Tuesday, October 18, visited and donated a football jersey to Madeleine Mukanemeye, a 96-year-old Gisagara resident, in Munazi Cell, Save Sector. Mukanemeye is an ardent fan of Mukura football club and the national football teams. She has been a constant fixture at Huye stadium whenever the teams are playing.

The oldest woman football fan in Rwanda who mostly appears at Huye stadium, was photographed on Tuesday, September 27, when the U-23 National football team bounced back and eliminated Libya at Huye Stadium. During that game, Rwanda defeated Libya 3-0 during the second leg match of the first round of the preliminary stages of the 2023 AFCON U-23 qualifiers to qualify for the second round of the preliminary stages of the 2023 AFCON U-23 qualifiers.

After almost two weeks, the grandma was caught through the camera on October 8, while supporting AS Kigali during a goalless draw against Al Nasr from Libya in the first leg match of the final preliminary round game of the 2022/23 CAF Confederation Cup at Huye stadium.

Yves Rwasamanazi's boys who are currently in a training camp in Huye ahead of the upcoming match against Mali, of the second stage of the preliminary round for the 2023 U-23 Afcon, surprised the 96-year old football fan Mukanemeye at her home and gifted her the national football team jersey and a recognition message for her tireless efforts to support the national football team.
