Rwabuhihi back to Kiyovu

Defender Placide Rwabuhihi has completed his return to boyhood side SC Kiyovu on a two-year deal after four years with APR FC.

Rwabuhihi, 24, is among players released by the army side at the end of the season. He returns to the club where he made a name for himself as one of the most promising defenders.

Kiyovu SC started training sessions on Monday, July 22, with coach Joslin Bipfubusa starting with a group of 55 players—some of whom are on trials while others are players from the club’s youth team who were given an opportunity to train in the senior team.

Kiyovu is looking for reinforcements after losing some of its key players including skipper Olivier Sefu Niyonzima who rejoined Rayon Sports as well as Frodouard Mugiraneza and Richard Kilongozi Bazombwa who joined APR FC and Police FC respectively.

Meanwhile, Tanzania’s Fountain Gate Princess captain Aquila Gaspar and Rehema Mohamed are currently training with Rayon Sports Women FC as the duo’s move beckons.

The two players are on Rayon’s transfer shortlist, with the club hoping to sign them before the CAF women’s champions League campaign kicks off in the CECAFA zone.

Elsewhere, Muhazi United have completed the signing of Samson Babua and Benjamin Twishime from Sunrise FC and Marines FC respectively. They penned a two-year deal each.

Bugesera FC have also handed a fresh two-year contract to their star defender Theotime Ntakirutimana. He committed his future at the club until June 2026.
