SKOL Brewery Ltd and Rayon Sports Association have announced a week of festivities dubbed ‘Rayon Sports Week’ during which they will celebrate their 10-year anniversary of partnership.
The two parties announced the development during a joint news conference held at the brewer’s headquarters in Nzove on July 22.
SKOL Brewery Ltd have become Rayon Sports partner since 2014, with the existing Rwf 1 billion partnership deal, signed in July 2022, set to run until 2026.

Addressing the media, SKOL Brewery Ltd General Manager Eric Gilson said, "Rayon Sports has significantly contributed to making SKOL Brewery Ltd one of the leading breweries in Rwanda. Thanks to the unwavering support from Gikundiro fans, our products are well-known and loved in the Rwandan beer market.”
"We are celebrating not only a decade of partnership but also the numerous trophies won by Rayon Sports, including league titles, Peace Cups, and the establishment of the Rayon Sports women’s team,” he added.
Club president Jean Fidele Uwayezu echoed Gilson’s sentiments and hailed the brewing company for the support it extended to the club throughout the past 10 years of partnership.
"Having a competitive team requires a supportive and trustworthy partner. SKOL has been with us through both challenging and joyous times over the past 10 years, providing financial support, donations, infrastructure, and professional development for our association.”
"Their support has often extended beyond our contractual agreements, demonstrating true partnership. I call on all Rayon Sports fans across the country to join us in celebrating this significant anniversary. Let’s gather in our SKOL-Rayon Bars and toast to our favorite beer, SKOL Lager, as we celebrate this milestone,” he added.
To celebrate the milestone, SKOL is offering a special promotion to SKOL Lager consumers where you buy two bottles and you get one free.
Additionally, there will be exciting promotions and prizes at SKOL-Rayon Sports Bars where fans can win tickets for ‘Rayon Day’ scheduled for August 3 at Amahoro Stadium.
During the press conference, Rayon Sports and SKOL announced that Brazilian coach Roberto Oliveira Gonçalves do Carmo, popularly known as Robertinho, will rejoin the Blues for a second spell after agreeing to coach the club for the upcoming season.
They also unveiled their home and away as well as third kits for the 2024-25 season.
Rayon Sports Week will feature a variety of activities, including two friendly matches—one against Amagaju FC on Wednesday, July 24, at Huye Stadium, and another against Musanze FC on Sunday, July 27, at Ubworoherane Stadium. Fans will also enjoy music performances by renowned female DJ Brianne and rapper Bushali.
Other events include the announcement of Rayon Sports’ captain for the 2024-2025 season on Friday, July 26, the launch of the away and third kits on July 28, a meet and greet with Rayon Sports players and fans on July 29 at SKOL Stadium as well as the launch of the home jersey on July 30.
The week will conclude with Rayon Day (Umunsi w’Igikundiro) on August 3, when the ‘Blues’ will host Tanzania’s Azam FC at Amahoro Stadium.
