Many music fans thought singer Aime Bluestone disappeared from the music scene until he released his brand-new song ‘Yananiye’ a week ago.

The 28-year-old singer, however, has come out to reveal that he is going nowhere because he belongs to music and is optimistic that his new song marks not just a remarkable return to the scene but also just the beginning of building a career for the artist he has always wanted to be.

"I am back, and I am back to stay this time round. I don’t plan on disappearing any longer because I am so far settled with all that I needed to do music the way I always wanted,” he said.

Bluestone said financial support for his music and the management conditions under which he was doing music were some of the mishaps he faced his music career before he decided to take a two-year break to build his own studio ‘S Music’ and a team that will be helping him as he takes another step in music.  

"One might think that I was out there doing nothing, but I was still in the music business. I have been establishing my own studio where I would record my songs at any time,” he said.

Born in Gatsata in Nyarugenge District, Bluestone is the firstborn in a family of two. He knew he would become a musician at a tender age after joining choirs.

He started pursuing his music career in 2012 but almost gave up his dream after he was rejected by several producers who denied him a chance to show them what his talent can offer to the music industry.

The singer lost all confidence that he would ever become a musician until he attended a talent detection show organised by then musician and Kigali Boys band member Skizzy in 2012 and emerged second in the competition.

"Coming second in a music competition that brought together all youngsters aspiring to do music boosted my confidence and, since then, I have purposed to carry on my dream,” he said.

As an underground singer, Bluestone recorded a number of songs which flopped, but his patience paid off when he featured in Danny Nanone’s song ‘Forever’ in 2014 that made him popular.

His name became more popular when he released his singles like ‘Mumporeze’, ‘Reka Ngukunde’ and ‘Bimparire’ among others and impressed a host of music entrepreneurs, fellow artists and supporters who, at the same time, felt disappointed by his lack of commitment in music, given his consistency.

The singer explained that he wasn’t lucky to get management to aid him in the development of his music as he wished but, with his new studio and a team behind him now on board, he now hopes he can take his music to another level.

It was at his studio that he recorded his latest song,"Yananiye," which reflects a wife whose behavior drives her husband crazy.

"A wife who shows strange behavior in front of her husband. It starts with the two of them enjoying their new marriage, before the wife starts exhibiting drunkenness, affecting the relationship with her husband, leaving him with no choice but to report the matter to her parents,” the singer explains.

"The song is not inspired by a true story, but this is happening in our society. I do this kind of music to advise my music fans who are like this. I believe it can change some and that’s what our music is intended for,” he added.

A new Bluestone

As he looks forward to writing a new chapter in music, Bluestone vows to carry on and release more music regularly since he now owns a studio.

"I think people are finally going to see the real musician that I am. I am not coming to drop one song and disappear like I used to, I am looking forward to releasing more songs regularly,” he said.

Bluestone has also been working on his debut album that he will soon share details about.
