The quest for Rwanda’s lone slot in next year’s Caf Confederation Cup gets underway this afternoon with preliminary round matches around the country in the Amahoro Cup.
Defending champions, APR are not in action because of their engagement in the Caf Confederations Cup first round return leg against Egyptian side Haras El Hodoud tomorrow.
National league champions and last year’s beaten finalists, Atraco host second division side ISAE at Mumena while Rayon Sport play take on another second division outfit Interforce at Nyamirambo stadium.
Atraco have added quality in their squad and would be hoping to better last year’s loss in the final while the Blues will be aiming to win any sort of silverware that they have not tasted since winning the league in 2004.
Other fixtures: Electrogaz face Aspor at Kicukiro, Musanze host UNR in Ruhengeri, AS-Kigali host Stella Maris at Ferwafa grounds while Union travel to Nyamagabe to face Amagaju.
Sorwathe host Kibuye in Kinihira, Marines play away to Intare at Kamena stadium, La Jeunesse travel to Muhanga, Zebres host Nyanza in Gicumbi while Etincelles play away to Espoir in Rusizi.
