Patriots Vs US Monastir 5:30pm

Patriot’s basketball club will be looking for revenge against Tunisia’s US Monastir when two sides square-off in the semi-finals of the Basketball Africa League (BAL) on Saturday evening (5:30pm) at Kigali Arena.

The Tunisians are seen by many among the title favorites as they remain unbeaten in competition, having defeated every team they faced, including a 91-76 win over Patriots in Game three of the group stages.

However, a rematch in the semifinals will be quite different and could see Patriots overcome US Monastir, according to shooting guard Kenny Gasana.

Gasana, who was named a man of the match for a brilliant performance when Patriots eliminated Mozambican side GNBC on 73-71 in the quarter-finals on Thursday, May 27, said his side’s growing experience in the competition and support from home fans can help them control the Tunisians’ threat and win the game to reach the final.

"The game against US Monastir will be a big test, as this is a very strong team. We will need to use our experience we learned in the previous games to push us forward. We, as a team, have been preparing for this game for some time now, so there is nothing left but to leave it all on the floor,” Gasana told Times Sport.

"I hope the fans’ energy will be the same as the quarterfinal game, if not more loud. We can feel their support,” he added.

Should Patriots defeat US Monastir, they will meet the winner between Petro de Luanda and Zamalek who go head-to-head in the first semi-finals at 2pm.
