Defending champions APR maintained their unbeaten record in the national football league thanks to a 1-1 draw away to AS Kigali on Wednesday at Muhanga Stadium.

Nigerian striker Aboubakar Lawal put the hosts in front in the 32nd minute before the military side levelled through their top striker Lague Byiringiro 12 minutes later. 

APR has not lost a league game since last season.

Both teams are separated by goal difference. The top two which are; AS Kigali, and APR, all have three points and are joint league leaders but AS Kigali has scored more goals.

Meanwhile, in another fixture of top eight, Espoir was held to a 2-2 draw by Rutsiro at Kamarampaka Stadium.

Bugesera plot Rayon Sports downfall

Bugesera FC will be hoping they can heap more misery on former champions Rayon when the two sides lock horns on Thursday afternoon at Bugesera Stadium.

However, they face a tough mountain to climb as Guy Bukasa’s boys seek to bounce back after losing to AS Kigali recently.
