After a great time in Rwanda, Nigerian music star Mr Eazi has revealed his interest in building a luxury resort and wellness centre around Lake Kivu, one of the most vibrant tourism destinations in the country, notably in Rubavu District, Western Province.
The singer, who arrived in Kigali last week, is on a business visit in Rwanda and has been exploring areas of investment and business opportunities in the country.
"Yesterday [Tuesday, May 18] I visited Lake Kivu, specifically an Island where we are looking to invest in a Luxury Eco Resort and Wellness Centre. I am having an awesome time in Rwanda,” Mr Eazi revealed in a post he shared via his Twitter account on Wednesday, May 19.
His ongoing tour in the country is attracting the singer to invest in different sectors after a number of investment opportunities were presented to him.
Upon his arrival, Mr Eazi met with different government officials, introduced by the officials of Rwanda Development Board (RDB) after discussing with him different investment opportunities available in Rwanda.
According to RDB, the singer was particularly interested in Rwanda's creative, e-payments and gaming sectors.
Weekender understands that the Nigerian musician turned entrepreneur is now the man behind gaming company Forza Bet.
In the area of technology, Mr Eazi toured the Kigali Innovation City and its anchor tenant, the African Leadership University and was introduced to the pan-African talent pool and technology opportunities available at the campus.
He also met Paula Musoni, the Minister of ICT and Innovation to further understand investment opportunities available in the ICT sector.
Chantal Kagame, the Chief Executive Officer of Mobile Money Rw Ltd and her team also received Mr. Eazi at their offices on Wednesday, May 19, where they discussed different areas of partnership, especially on how to grow the cashless payments in various digital platforms such as gaming, digital payments and remittance.
During his stay, Mr Eazi also took some time between his meetings to support two local creative entrepreneurs in fashion, by shopping some clothing pieces at House of Tayo and Zoi Designs, a clothing line co-owned by the Miss Rwanda 2020 Naomie Nishimwe and her colleagues who make up the Mackenzies.
With the inaugural Basketball Africa League (BAL) currently taking place in Kigali, Mr Eazi is also among a list of celebrities who came to witness the continental showpiece which runs until May 30 at the Kigali Arena.
He was in attendance at the Arena to support Nigerian Basketball giants Rivers Hoopers who lost their opening game to local team Patriots on May 16.
Born Oluwatosin Oluwole Ajibade, Mr Eazi last came to Rwanda in 2017 for a performance during the Liberation Day Concert.
Some of his popular songs are Leg Over, Dance for You, Body, Skintight, Hollup and his brand new song "E be Mad”, among others.
