TEAM RWANDA Coach Felix Sempoma has picked 5 riders who will feature for the national team in the 2021 Tour du Rwanda that starts on May 2.
According to Rwanda Cycling Federation (Ferwacy), the teams were named after intensive preparations which have been going on at their training center in Musanze.
Team Rwanda will be led by 2018 Tour du Rwanda winner, Samuel Mugisha, alongside 2015 winner, Jean Bosco Nsengimana, Renus Byiza Uhiriwe, Eric Muhoza who will be racing for the first time and Bernabe Gahemba who finished in 13th place at the 2020 event.
Sempoma dropped three riders who are; Felicien Hakizimana, Emmanuel Iradukunda Masengesho and Jeremie Ngendahayo.
Sempoma will be looking to win the first Tour du Rwanda race since it was upgraded to a UCI 2.1 race category in 2019.
Team Rwanda is one of three cycling teams that will represent Rwanda at this year’s cycling tournament alongside SKOL Adrien Cycling Academy (SACA) and Benediction Cycling.
