A video of Rwanda Defence Force (RDF) Officer Cadets singing and dancing following their commissioning on Monday, April 26, has gone viral on social media platforms. The 30-second clip showcases patriotism and national pride of young men and women in uniform.
During the commissioning of 721 Rwanda Defence Force (RDF) Officer Cadets at the Rwanda Military Academy in Gako, Bugesera District, the young soldiers expressed their readiness to protect the country and remain available whenever called to service.
In their song, the young cadets note that they are not wary of the tactics of the enemy as they have a counter for it.
The young soldiers are walking in the footsteps of the heroes of the liberation struggle that stopped the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi and put Rwanda on a path of sustainable development.
Like the generation before them, the fresh cadets are not oblivious to the challenges the country faces, including negative forces bent on destroying what has been built.
The patriotic song is a reminder that, while the path ahead may not be smooth, the country is in safe hands with a new generation of courageous men and women, ready to respond to any threat.
