The party had earlier submitted a list of 54 candidates — consisting 26 women — to represent it in parliamentary elections.

"PL praises Rwandans who massively voted for Paul Kagame, the candidate it endorsed in the presidential race. We are proud of his landslide victory. Liberal Party commends all Rwandans who trusted in it and voted for its candidates during parliamentary elections that were held on July 14 and July 15. The party welcomes the votes and victory it secured,” read part of the party’s statement.

The party promised Rwandans that it will continue to strive for the development of every Rwandan.

"This is through good governance, economic development and social welfare of citizens in which citizens have to get space for freely sharing ideas to leave no one behind in Rwanda’s development,” it added.
