PONDERING NEXT MOVE: Brig. Gen. Jean Bosco Kazura.

Brig. Gen. Jean Bosco Kazura is adamant Rwanda’s hopes of qualifying for the 2010 Africa Nations’ Cup finals remain unharmed despite the home goalless draw against Algeria in the opening second round qualifier on Saturday.

In his first reaction to Saturday’s draw, Rwanda’s Football Association boss said, "We can not give up qualification after just one qualifier. We still have equal chances of reaching Angola and South Africa finals as the rest of the teams in the group.”

"There are five matches still to play before the one who goes to either World/Africa Cup is determined. We drew the first game, now the focus is winning away to Zambia,” Kazura said.
The Amavubi Stars were held by Algeria at Amahoro stadium in Group C opener of the qualifiers’ final phase while Zambia also held continental champions, Egypt to a 1-all draw in Cairo.

The results on the opening weekend, left the four contenders with one point each ahead of the next games in June when Algeria host Egypt and Zambia host Rwanda in Lusaka.

For Rwanda to qualify for the Africa Nations’ Cup, they will be required to win the remaining home games against Zambia and Egypt and hope to record a draw or sneak an away win in Lusaka, Egypt and Algiers.
