KCC won by two wickets

Kigali Cricket Club secured a two-wicket victory over Challengers to win the 2008/09 Utexrwa Cup at Kicukiro.

Jasat Mehboob was the architect of KCC’s victory after picking five wickets and scoring 19 runs.

Batting first, defending champions Challengers posted 151 runs in 30 overs thanks to Gopi Krishnan who top scored with 45.

However, impressive knocks from Sheikh Asif (34) and Pandor Rizwan (23) guided KCC to a much-deserved victory.

Challengers captain, Srinath Vardhineni, Mehboob and Young Tigers’ Andre Kayitera also picked up two man-of-the match awards each while Eric Dusabemungu (Young Tigers) and Right Guards’ Dennis Mukama walked away with one apiece.
