Egyptian Football Association (EFA) has informed Rwanda of their intention to play their World/Africa Nations’ Cup Group C qualifier on June 12 in Cairo.

The Ferwafa Chief Executive Officer Jules Kalisa told Times Sport that Egypt had written to Ferwafa requesting the Group C qualifier to be played on June 12.

"We will first discuss it with the Amavubi technical staff and see what is better for Rwanda before making a final decision,” Kalisa said.

However, Rwanda had earlier sounded negative on the change of dates with national team Coach Tucak Branko preferring to play the Egyptians on June 10, four days after playing Zambia on June 6.

Earlier this month, the Egyptian Football Association wanted the World’s football body, Fifa to postpone their home qualifier against Rwanda, which is scheduled for June 10 in Cairo.

The Egyptian FA informed Fifa the difficulty of facing Rwanda on June 10, following Algeria’s alteration to the original date of their 2010 World Cup qualifiers meeting with Egypt.

The FA received a notification from the Algerian Football Federation a fortnight ago, setting June 7 as the new date of their qualifier, one day later than the pre-agreed date.

This change in date means that African champions Egypt will only have less than three days to prepare for the next World Cup game against Rwanda.

Egypt, who plays away to Algeria in a Northern African affair on June 7, will take part in this year’s Fifa Confederations Cup.

The African champions will face Brazil, Italy and USA in Group B in South Africa, who will host the competition starting June 15th.
