APR midfielder Taddeo Lwanga has reassured that he and his teammates are doing all they can to improve their game ahead of the CECAFA Kagame Cup semifinals.

APR booked an automatic ticket to the tournament’s semifinals after finishing at the summit of Group C with 7 points from three games, two points ahead of Ugandan champions SC Villa.

They will face Group B winners Al Hilal in the last four round which will take place at Azam Complex on Friday, July 19.

The Sudan Premier League champions, who are under Congolese gaffer Florent Ibenge, have been in unstoppable form during the group stages but a tough test against APR FC awaits them.

The army side finished the group stages unbeaten but coach Darko Novic is not convinced by the level of performance from his players yet.

Lwanga admits the team is not at its peak yet considering the fact that is currently undergoing remarkable rebuild but he is optimistic they will go into semifinal action hoping to perform much better.

"We are not yet at the high level but slowly we are getting there. New players have come in, we just need some time, and I believe we can be a formidable team," Lwanga told the press after APR’s 1-1 draw with SC Villa on Monday.

The draw was enough for Lwanga’s side to secure spot in the semifinals.

"We came into this game knowing what we wanted. We needed just a point or a win because we won our first two game," the Ugandan midfielder said.

"The coach also managed to give everyone a chance to play which is a good thing for us. Villa is a good team, they play together, they gave us some tough moments but we managed to come on top as we were the better side."
