APR FC's recent abysmal form in the 2022/23 Rwanda Premier League continued on Monday, October 17, as they were held to a 1-1 draw.
Their game which was supposed to be played earlier had been rescheduled due to APR's involvement in the CAF Champions League.
APR started the game brightly and took the lead in the fourth minute through Christian Ishimwe who curled in a spectacular free kick from 25 yards. The Army side then pushed more men forward but Police FC defenders were resolute.
The game took a different dimension after the break as Police FC's danger man Savio Nshuti started running into empty spaces. Nshuti latched onto a through ball from midfield but was pulled down inside the box by Ishimwe and the referee whistled for a penalty which was beautifully dispatched by Onesme Twizerimana in the 67th minute to make it 1-1.
Chances were far and few in the last 20 minutes of the game. Each side treaded cautiously until the end.
