Rwanda vs Egypt 7pm 

All the players and officials on the national basketball team that traveled to Monastir, Tunisia for the Afrobasket qualifiers have tested negative for Covid-19 as the match action edges closer.

The team left for Tunisia on Friday, February 12 onboard a RwandAir chartered flight, and after their arrival in the North African country, they were tested for Covid-19.

Fortunately, all the results returned negative on Saturday, February 13.

The team is preparing for an imminent friendly game that they will play against Egypt on Sunday, February 14 in Monastir, as they look to make some final touches on their readiness for the qualifiers.

Taking place between February 17 to 21, the qualifiers will see Rwanda rub shoulders with South Sudan, Nigeria and Mali in Group D.

The national team is staying at Skanes TUI Magic Life hotel in Monastir and will train at Stade Mustapha Ben Jannet on Saturday.

Speaking to Times Sport, head coach Henry Mwinuka said he believes the warm-up match against Egypt will be a good test for his team before the qualifiers start.

 "We believe Egypt is a good opponent to test how far we have gone, where we have improved and probably, our errors and weaknesses, so that we can fix before heading to the second window," he said.

Meanwhile, the other teams that will be taking part in the qualifiers have arrived in Monastir and include; Madagascar, Morocco, and Egypt.
