Sawa Citi Ltd has opened a new retail shop in Rusororo sector, Gasabo District, proving the company’s commitment to getting closer to the community.
Same as other branches of the grocery store, the new shop among others provides a range of snacks, and alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, not forgetting the BROOD bread and other baked products that the supermarket is renowned for.
According to Alex Shyaka, a Director at Sawa Citi, the new shop will ensure that the retail company reaches to as many people as possible.
"The shop in Rusororo is one of our strategies to come closer to where people live and also be part of the growth of neighbourhoods by providing them with modern retail. The shop will provide all the basic commodities,” he said.
Shyaka also highlighted that there are plans to expand the new outlet and incorporate more provisions in bid to give a memorable experience to customers.
"We are planning to open a Brood café and bakery in the next two or three months, so as to provide recreation place for residents of Rusororo and neighbourhoods,” he said.
So far, Sawa Citi has six outlets across the City of Kigali, and the retail company says that it forecasts to open more outlets in the near future across the city, including a large store to be built in Muhima before the end of the year.
The brand works closely with more Rwandan producers in a bid to stock a majority of locally made and sourced products and facilitate the development of local value chains.
Sawa Citi has also partnered with Pride farms to offer fresh, organic, and well-packaged vegetables, also partnered with Bella Flowers to offer first grade flowers ( for the first time on the market).
With the current Covid-19 pandemic that has among others restricted movements, Sawa Citi has partnered with Iposita, an established logistics company.
"We want to make shopping even easier now that there is limited movement around town. Our customers need to WhatsApp us on 0788316000 to order and we shall deliver to their homes,” Shyaka said.
The retail company is also working on its e-commerce platform to further tap into the growing tech-based market.
