Covid-19: Rwanda reports 151 new infections, four deaths

Rwanda on Saturday, February 6, reported 151 new Covid-19 cases. This raised the country's total number of confirmed cases to 16,337.

According to the Ministry of Health, the new cases were identified in 20 districts of the 30 districts that make up the country.

Being the country’s major hotspot of Covid-19, Kigali reported the highest number of infections - 66. The city recorded the same number of cases on Friday.

On the other hand, Kirehe, Rusizi, Ruhango, and Nyanza districts reported a single Covid-19 case each- the least number of infections confirmed country-wide on Saturday.

Meanwhile, four people succumbed to the virus on Saturday. The deceased were all men aged 51, 56, 61, and 79. 

Overall, the country has registered 217 fatalities linked to the virus.

On the same day, 430 people recovered from Covid-19.  In total, 12,047 people have recovered from the virus in Rwanda.

So far, there are 22 Covid-19 patients who are critically ill.
