Goal setting gives vision and motivation to pursue the kind of life you want. It is certainly the best way of motivating yourself to turn your dreams into the future and reality you desire. One important thing to note, however, is that success in attaining these set goals is what counts and this lies in the daily habits you choose to engage in. John Calvin Maxwell, an American author, speaker and pastor, said, "You will never change your life until you change something you do daily. The secret of your success is found in your daily routine.” What you do today ultimately determines where you will be tomorrow. Considering some of the factors below and possibly interweaving them into your daily routine can be helpful in attaining your goals in life.

The content and frequency of the books you choose to read exerts more significance on your beliefs, your attitude and the choices you eventually make. Whereas reading is commended as one of the best ways to acquire knowledge, it is important to be careful of what you choose to feed the mind. The knowledge you gather from reading and how you apply it will depend on the kind of books you read.

Your actions determine your future. Whether this turns out to be successful or not, it is all determined by the steps taken today, even the smallest decision made has an impact on how the future turns out to be. For instance, if you work hard or choose to relax, this can determine your success or mediocrity later in life. What you want out of life, you must put it in.
3. The habits you adopt
Are the habits you have today at par with the dreams you have for tomorrow? Steph Curry, an American professional basketball player, once said that noting that whatever you do on a regular basis today determines where you will be tomorrow. Since a person is believed to be what they repeatedly do, it’s crucial to build habits that are not limiting to your life. Bad habits are bound to hurt and hold you back from your potential. However, building healthy habits will help you grow as a person and achieve your full potential.

Through interactions and the discussions, we have with others, we are able to make sense of the world around us. However, this goes down to which type of conversations. What you say is a reflection of how you view the world and life in general, and this ultimately determines where life takes you, or where you take your life for that matter.
5. The people you spend time with
You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with. This is a common adage that holds water considering the fact that who you spend time with impacts the person you eventually become. This person, depending on their character or virtue, has the power to bring you down or uplift you. The people you spend time with can influence your beliefs and behaviour, hence, spending time with those you share same values and beliefs in life is a great way to pursue the kind of life you want.
