Police FC Striker Elijah Ani is back to Rwanda after his move to move to Belgian Jupiler Pro League side Charleroi collapsed despite excelling in trials.
According to sources, Ani impressed Charleroi manager Rik De Mil who was ready to sign him after two weeks of trials.
However, the player's age (26) coupled with not having previously played international football for the national team and lack European football experience served as a bane to the deal.
Charleroi were ready to loan the player to a second tier league team for him to get the needed experience. The club offered to pay Police FC after the loan spell but only if he impresses, which the law enforcers declined, prompting the player to return to the club.
