An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.7 jolted the southern region of Africa at 0455 GMT on Wednesday, the U.S. Geological Survey said, Xinhua reports.

The epicenter, with a depth of 10.0 kilometers, was initially determined to be at 53.31 degrees south latitude and 25.31 degrees east longitude.
