Editor,
The World Water Day was recently commemorated. But we, the residents of ‘Wastade’, the area behind the Amahoro Stadium have nothing to celebrate. Our taps are dry.
This has been our plight for the last two months or so. Gone are the days when the simple necessity of washing hands was just a matter of turning on the taps.
We are now left at the mercy of water vendors, who are earning their living from out plight. We are told that water pipes leading to our area burst some time ago.
We have called on the relevant authorities to help sort the matter. To date, our taps are still dry.
Our lack of water comes at a time when we are celebrating the health week. Water borne diseases are highly communicable, we are a terrified lot.
Can someone give us a reason to celebrate? Can someone please resolve our water problem once and for all. Mr. Editor, please help us!
