Transfer updates: Haruna Niyonzima linked with Rayon, Malian striker signs for APR

Former Amavubi skipper Haruna Niyonzima is set for a sensational return the Primus National League and Rayon Sports are leading race to sign him, sources have told Times Sport.

The veteran midfielder’s contract with Libyan Premier League side Al Taawon expired on June 30 and he is currently a free agent as he prepares for his next move.

Times Sport understands that Rayon Sports have contacted Niyonzima over a potential return to the club he played for between 2006 and 2007 before moving to cross arch rivals APR FC.

Elsewhere, APR have reportedly completed the signing of Malian winger Mohamadou Lamine Bah hours before flying to Paris with the rest of Malian squad for the 2024 Olympic Games.

Bah, 22, featured for Tunisian Ligue 1 club Olympique Beja in the 2023/24 season where he made 25 appearances in all competition scoring once and providing three assists.

APR are also closing in on Ghanaian midfielder Enock Morission. The 24-year-old attacking midfielder is out of contract at Asante Kotoko and initial talks between his representatives and the Rwandan champions have taken place.

Mukura Victory Sports have also signed right-back Obed Uwumukiza from Muhazi United on a two-year deal. He is set to battle Cedric Kubwimana for the starting berth on the right-side of Mukura's defense.

Forward Bienvenue Mugenzi is now a free agent after parting ways with Police FC after one season. Mugenzi played for Kiyovu SC in the 2022/24 before joining Police.
