APR are still waiting for French Ligue 1 side FC Nantes to contact them about the possible transfer of striker Elias Uzamukunda.

The club president Brig. Gen. Alex Kagame told Times Sport yesterday that they are just waiting for Nantes officials to make contact if they are indeed interested in the Rwandan international.

"He (Uzamukunda) passed the trials and returned home (from France), but we are still waiting for them (Nantes) to contact us so that the deal is finalised,” Kagame said, adding that they are not yet aware when the talks will be held.

The Amavubi and APR striker passed professional trials with the struggling French Ligue 1 club early this month and what is remaining for him to realize his dream of playing professionally is for the two clubs to reach an agreement.

Uzamukunda, 19 was accompanied by team mates Haruna Niyonzima, Jean Mugiraneza but the latter returned home after their trial at Le Havre proved fruitless as they were ordered to train with the U-18 side.

Nantes is currently placed on 16thposition with 30 points in 29 matches played in the French Ligue 1.
