Five new Covid-19-related deaths registered

Five Covid-19 related deaths were registered on Thursday, January 14 in Rwanda, taking the total number of those that have died in relation to the virus in the country to 133.

According to an update from the Ministry of Health, the five fatalities included two women aged 66 and 93 from Kigali; two men aged 48 and 68, also from the capital city; and a 27-year-old man from Rwamagana district.

On the same day, the country recorded 194  new confirmed cases of Covid-19 infections. Of these, 98 were from Kigali; 17 from Huye; 17 from Rulindo; 14 from Gicumbi; 12 from Kirehe; 12 from Gisagara; 6 from Musanze; 6 from Rwamagana; 5 from Nyagatare; 2 from Gakenke; 2 from Nyanza; 1 from Rusizi; 1 from Nyamagabe; and 1 from Rubavu.

The total number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the country is 10,316. Of these,  6,974 have recovered from the virus, while the active cases are 3,209.
