On Wednesday, January 6, Rwanda reported 103 new Covid-19 cases. Of these, 82 were confirmed in Kigali.
On the same day, six cases were reported in Rubavu district. Meanwhile, Musanze and Huye districts reported three cases, whereas Muhanga and Nyanza districts confirmed two Covid-19 cases.
Ruhango, Rusizi, Burera, Kayonza and Nyagatare districts reported a single case each.
On the same day, two people succumbed to Covid-19 in Rwanda. The deceased were a 42 year-old woman and a 55 year-old man.
Currently, the Covid-19 death toll stands at 112, whereas the total number of Covid-19 confirmed cases is 9,058. Of these cases, 6,940 have already recovered.
The results were obtained from 4,829 Covid-19 sample tests taken in the last 24 hours.
In total, 750, 081 tests have been conducted in Rwanda.
Meanwhile, as Covid-19 infections and fatalities surge country-wide, all business operations, including restaurants, shops, markets and malls, now close at 6:00 p.m.
This, according to officials, is part of efforts to slow the spread of new Covid-19 infections in the country.
